Why Chronological???
Canonical reading means to go through the Bible as written, Genesis to Revelation. Chronological rearranges books and passages to align with the timeline of events. The purpose of a chronological Bible reading plan is to follow the Bible's story in the order events actually happened, helping to provide a clearer, more cohesive understanding of God's grand story of redemption, the historical and cultural context, and the unfolding of prophecy. This assists us in seeing how the Old and New Testaments connect as one unified story of redemption.
Key Benefits:
Unravels the Narrative: Tracks the story from creation to Christ and beyond, showing events and teachings in sequence.
Provides Context: Places stories within their historical and cultural settings, revealing deeper meaning.
Connects Testaments: Helps reconcile the Old and New Testaments by showing the fulfillment of prophecy and the continuity of God's plan.
Deeper Understanding: Reveals how different books and people intersect.
