The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone, but in community with other Christ-followers. As much as we love Sundays here at Greece Assembly, we also know the importance of providing opportunities for people to connect relationally in a smaller and more personal setting outside of Sunday mornings. We believe that “Dinner for Eight” groups will offer a space to meet this goal –helping people connect and build meaningful relationships, by sharing time together around the table.
In Scripture we are instructed to gather, break bread together, encourage one another and be together in community (Acts 20:7; Hebrews 10:24-25; and Matthew 18:20). The “Dinner for Eight” concept is a meaningful way to do this.
How It Works…
This summer there will be host homes where you will gather with a group of eight adults from our church family. The idea is to get to know new people and/or deepen existing relationships.
This will take place one evening this summer (date/time coordinated by the host home). The host will provide the main course and beverages, and the goal is to have individuals/families bring either an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to share.
Registration Process?
- Registration has been extended to Wednesday, June 28.
- Register online or via paper form.
- After
the registration deadline, the D48 groups will be formed.
- Once hosts receive their group, they will then contact each group member and begin planning the summer gathering.
Are There Specialized Groups?
Great question! Groups will be mixed... young adults, single adults, widows or widowers, and married couples.
Is it a Bible Study?
Great question! This is simply a time for fellowship with other church family members. If the conversation takes you back to Sunday’s sermon, wonderful, but there are no preconceived expectations for this to happen.
What About Childcare?
Every registrant is responsible to arrange their own childcare.
